It isn t my cable i have tried 4 and they are all the same.
In many cases when the pin becomes black one side of the lighting cable stops working.
The other day my iphone decided to start only charging on one side.
Before my iphone used to be able to charge either way you plugged it in now it only seems to accept only side for some reason.
So the cable is working fine.
I ve found that if i plug them in one way my iphone won t charge but if i plug it in the other way they work.
I ve tried my iphone 5 with two different cables and both of them only connect when plugged in the right.
As you can see.
Should i go to the apple store.
Why is it when connected to apple product in my case macbook the device is charging both way.
But not by other power supply output as i mention above which only work on one side only.
Buy an apple mfi certified lighting cable here.
This is certainly true in my cable s case as i can only charge and sync my iphone from one side of the cable as other ones doesn t work at all making the problem particularly annoying.

Lightning connector only works one way i have two lightning connector cables and the new 30 pin to lightning adapter all direct from apple.
The most likely thing is that the iphone s lightning port is blocked.
I have replaced the lightning connector in my phone to no avail.

It s not just one cable multiple cables have the same issue whether apple or 3rd party.
Iphone only charges one way.
I went to plug in my phone one no charge i flip the lightning connector to the other side and it works what s the problem.
If anyone has any solution to this it would be greatly appreciated.

I m not sure if i ve got a defect or what but mine only works one way.
One of apple s selling points for the new lightning connector was that it doesn t matter which way you plug it in.
