There are several ways to repair damaged vinyl siding depending on the extent of the damage. Cover the hole from the back side with foil tape then put the siding back where it belongs.

This patch will keep the rain. A hole saw tin snips etc will slice right through it. A siding zip tool pops the piece off from the bottom edge.
